32. Laser Vibrometer

A laser vibrometer can also be used to measure torsional vibration. The laser is non-contacting and can be "pointed" at the rotating surface of interest. No downtime is normally required. Another advantage is the laser's ability to measure anywhere within the range -7000 to +11000 RPM including directional changes, torsional transients and rotational vibrations around the rest position.
