Skid Finite Element Analysis

Large skids are frequently used in industry for foundation applications. Combined with large equipment, such as engines, compressors, generators, or fans, low structural natural frequencies can occur and are more likely to be excited by mechanical excitation harmonics.

Very often, this type of equipment has very complex geometry that must be accurately represented to predict the system structural natural frequencies. Under these conditions, 3-D finite element modeling is the most practical and accurate method for performing structural dynamic analyses.
