There are two basic types of foundations: one is the block foundation, which most of the speakers have been talking about; the other is the frame type of foundation. What I would like to do in this presentation is to talk about the need for designing the natural frequencies and mode shapes of these frame foundations. I would like to briefly cover the methods that are now being used to solve such problems.
