EDI's philosophy for vibration control puts emphasis on robust pulsation control. This philosophy optimizes pulsation control using acoustical filtering or properly sized surge volumes where applicable, to eliminate excessive pulsation induced forces rather than emphasizing unreliable "brute force" mechanical restraint, for vibration control. Our philosophy has been adapted as the default design method by the API 618 Fifth Edition and EDI is also a primary contributor to the API 674 and was the originator of its pulsation guideline specification. EDI has been a primary contributor to the Fifth Edition Vibration and Pulsation control section and has been shown to be the only practical and proven methodology for vibration control.
