EDI’s Rotor-E Software

ROTOR-E allows EDI to visualize and understand the complex vibrations of rotating machinery. With Rotor-E, we can identify your problems and develop solutions.

This software especially designed by EDI developers gives us the power to:

  • display the critical speed maps, unbalance response plots, orbits, logarithmic decrement versus aerodynamic load plots, as well as 3D animate mode shapes
  • obtain a direct eigenvalue solution for critical speed and stability calculations, solving for all roots
  • utilize a sparse matrix solution for unbalance response, efficiently calculating the response at all stations
  • predict vibration at every modeled point of the rotor over the entire speed range
  • thoroughly analyze the lateral response of the rotor to ensure maximum reliability
Expert bearing failure analysts Rotodynamic analyses for a wide range of equipment

ROTOR-E Analysis Capabilities:

  • Performs all API lateral rotordynamic calculations including coupled train analyses.
  • Allows bearings, seals, or aerodynamic loads to be located at any point.
  • Presents the results of critical speed, unbalance response, and stability analyses simultaneously in plots and tables on screen.
  • Accepts twelve parameters for modeling bearings and seals (four stiffness, four damping, and four mass terms).
  • Generates damped or undamped critical speed maps.
  • Models effects of pedestal stiffness, damping, and mass.
  • Calculates vibration response due to unbalance at multiple locations Includes or excludes gyroscopic effects.
  • Converts input and output to either English or metric units
