Time Transient

A transient analysis is performed when conditions are continually changing such as for a start, electrical fault, or shutdown. Numerical integration techniques are used to determine the torsional response in the time-domain. The calculated peak torques in the couplings are checked versus allowable levels and the alternating shear stresses are used to determine if any fatigue damage may occur in the shafts.
